I hope everyone had a great weekend! It felt like summer had truly begun. We had temperatures in the high 80’s – which made for a fun afternoon of the grandson & me running thru the sprinkler. That little boy brings out the inner child in me!
I worked on a stars & stripes PIY kit for Memorial Day – but I guess it’ll have be a Fourth of July kit.
This one is how to make a wavy flag. Very simple. You add highlighting on top of the fold and shading on the other side. Three colors. I’ll probably post the kit later this week.
I can’t decide what these lampshades need. Something. So I just. Stopped. Painting. Any suggestions? Maybe add some stripes to the stars? Stars to the heart? I’m open. What about a border? Yes, I do talk to myself, but this time, Self isn’t answering.
This is what they are – a tealight lampshade. I’ll give you the pattern when I figure out how to finish them. And how about a giveaway? Then you wouldn’t even have to paint one – but it’s an awfully fun paint project. People can’t believe you made these little guys. Yep, you have to try one. But I’ll still give one away.
One more little ‘announcement’. I’m going to be posting line art – outlines I draw before I start painting. It’s kind of like clip art. They’re all mine, all drawn by me. So they don’t look all cool and graphic. But Amy @ ModpodgeRocks suggested I offer them because we’re always looking for patterns.
You can use them for scrapbooking, blogging, stencils, quilting, painting – anything you want. I just ask you provide a link back to me.
I’ll try and post about one a day, but don’t hold me to it. I’ll store them on the Freebie Goodies page so you can periodically check them out.
Okay. On to my Choo Choo Train. Not all of my painting clients are residences. Once in a while I get to do a painting for a business. This wall hanging was for a kids store in Old Sacramento.
The little kitty next to the giraffe was their logo. I don’t get it either. I just painted what they wanted.
In all my stacks of line art, I didn’t find anything for this train. I might’ve just painted it without a sketch. If you’d like a pattern for the train or any of the animals, let me know.
