I know, I know. The movie hasn’t even come out yet and it’s all over the media. But I adore Julia Roberts and I’m loving what I’ve seen of the sets in Italy, India & Bali.
I’m sure there will be a ton of paintings based on Eat Pray Love, but I wanted to do my own. These will be PIY kits & I’m also shooting videos of them. So they will be available as kits after I finish painting them this week.
Here is the line art for the three paintings. Line art can actually take me longer to create than painting – the composition, size, elements to include, etc.
The background colors will be the same for all 3 so that they can hang in a group, if desired.
Eat
Just a tomato on a fork with some fresh basil leaves. I like the simplicity of this. I was going to just paint a fork but I like the red of the tomato.
Pray
I realize that most of us are not buddhists, but since this series is based upon the book/movie, I decided on Buddha anyway. To me, eastern artwork brings a feeling of peace – that zen vibe, you know?
Love
This was a tough one for me to design. How do you portray love & Bali at the same time? So I chose this temple as a representation of Bali, and the floating hearts to signify Love.
Today I’m working on Eat. I’d love some of your input on the patterns. I often miss the forest for the trees, so if you have some ideas, I’d love to know!
