Yesterday I shared my burlap ‘score’. I couldn’t let a pile of burlap just sit there when I had two nekked chairs now, could I?
These pillows are ridiculously easy too. All you need is spray paint and a felt leaf from the dollar store. Oh, and burlap, of course. Although any fabric would work. Even a painter’s drop cloth.
I pinned this oak leaf pillow on Pinterest quite a while ago, figuring I’d handpaint it one of these days.
Then I looked at this felt leaf I got from the dollar store. And then I thought about the patriotic pillows I spraypainted for 4th of July.
Why not?
Can you say “bigtime color” in less than 5 minutes?
Ok, so it took a minute or two to dry. And, yes, I totally am gonna reuse the felt leaves for something else too.
Just like that, a fall leaf pillow. No, I didn’t sew it. I just taped the back. The burlap is really too scratchy for a comfortable pillow, plus it sheds like crazy.
But for a color spot on my front porch? Perfect.
I’m even thinking of making a burlap wall hanging for inside by doing the same thing – reverse stencil with spray paint. So quick & easy.
Only one problem . . .
I just noticed the ledge above the bistro table & chairs. It looks a little bare, doesn’t it? Surely I could find something to throw up there, right?
Have you started decorating for Fall? Or do you do Halloween first?

I love some of the burlap crafts I’ve found around, including this coastal burlap wall art from Sand & Sisal and this burlap and ribbon pillow from Country Chic Cottage. Home Stories A to Z shows you how to make burlap light shades and Just Paint It uses spray paint to create a fun leaf themed burlap pillow. […]
