I’m normally not a trendy person in either home decor or fashion. I prefer neutrals and then add color and pattern in accessories. However now that I’m licensing my art into products, I’m more conscious of current trends that span all age groups.
I’ve had a passion for paisley for as long as I can remember . . . probably because I was raised in the 60’s and 70’s.
I painted this thrift store lamp and lampshade a few years ago and the lampshade was more a lesson in doodling than a specific paisley pattern.
What’s interesting about these two pieces is they both have my brother in common – totally unintentional. And it’s not that I think of paisley when I think of him. Quite the opposite. It was only when I went to write this post that I noticed it.
I have a few more paisley projects planned – some freehand, some stenciled. If you like paisley too then check out the clipboard I did for Hometalk that has twenty different projects!
If you’re not a member of Hometalk yet, I highly recommend it. You’ll get tons of home and garden ideas and you can ask questions of the many professionals they have. It’s a wonderful site. They also have a great Facebook page that posts loads of inspiring and unique projects too.
Are you a fan of paisley? Have you used it in home decor?
