Bug Patterns

Bug Patterns

I am so ready for Spring, as I guess most of us are, and I love adding pretty bugs some of my to my Spring paint projects.

Bugs . . . pretty?

Ok. So there are bugs and then there are bugs.

Some make you go “Ewwww”.  And some, “Oooooo”.

We’ll save the creepy kind for Halloween.

But now that I think about it, isn’t that funny? How icky things are perfectly fine for October 31, but not the rest of the year?

Unless maybe . . . you’re kinda strange.

No judgment here. I have a niece who totally loves spiders. Seriously. Loves ’em.

The best I can offer is to try and shoo them into a jar to let them go free outside. That’s my contribution to the icky bug world. (All bets are off for mosquitoes and flies though.)

But for the pretty guys? For them, I’ll draw up some patterns so we can paint and embroider and applique . . . . or just print and color them.

I’m still getting used to this new blog design and WordPress. If you’re not a blogger, let me tell you, WordPress is a whole new ballgame. Especially after doing it one way for five years. It takes a little getting used to for this ‘old dog’.

But it’ll be worth it. The main advantage is that things will be easier to find. That is, after I categorize everything properly.

For instance, Patterns are my hand drawn line art, like these bugs, that you can use as . . . well, as patterns.

I used to call patterns Printables.

Printables can be printed too . . . duh . . . but they already have the art or painting on them. Like these Cupcake Printables.

But since I used to use the terms printables and patterns interchangeably, it created a bit of a mess, which is what I’m working on. And will be working on for some time to come because that’s only two of the many categories I fouled up.

There are hundreds more.

My point is this, once I get it all together, when you click on Patterns, you know you’ll find patterns you can use for painting or sewing or whatever. When you click on Paint Surfaces, you’ll be able to see all the different surfaces we paint on and projects for the same.

What I’m trying to say is things will be easy to find, for you and me.

It’s a tedious process though and quite time-consuming. So if you come across a post that either doesn’t have a photo or doesn’t seem to belong in that category, it just means I haven’t gotten to it yet. But I will get there!

Speaking of which, I’m off for my evening category recategorizing.
