Paint a Christmas Canvas by simply using stickers or, in my case, Silhouette vinyl. Position stickers, paint ombre effect over the top, remove stickers.
Antique Bronze Faux Finish
A few days ago, after unloading all of the groceries, I brought in my recent treasures from our oh-so-awesome local thrift store. What is that? Mom inquired. I’m not sure . . . yet. What are you going to do with . . . it? Don’t know . . . yet. Where are you going […]
Painted Holly Leaf Dropcloth Pillow
I’m approaching Christmas in a totally logical, reasonable fashion this year. At least, I started out that way. I’ve divvied up each area of the house that I want to decorate, made two lists for each area – one for floral decorations, wreaths and stuff, and one for paintable decorations. Then I combined those two […]
How To Paint Faux Rust
This is a simple little way to paint faux rust using only craft paints. On almost anything. Like little stars, cut out of cereal boxes. That would make ideal ornaments for Christmas trees for a front porch. Like my porch, for instance. Yes, I realize we just had Halloween. Yes, I realize it’s only the […]
Antiqued Chair with Spray Paint

Paint Burlap for Halloween

I love me some burlap for all kinds of home décor, any time of the year. But Halloween . . . it’s perfect. Some burlap projects I’ve painted are a Spooky Runner, Candle […]
Wicked Painted Table Topper for Halloween
I’m almost done with my Halloween projects for this year. Almost. Since our new house has two levels, basically two different houses, that means I have to decorate twice. Have to. Luckily, I never seem to run out of ideas. Or paint. When I saw this silver and black runner at Pottery Barn, I thought […]
Easy Faux Verdigris
We see verdigris all over the place. The Statue of Liberty is verdigris, for instance. Many don’t know what verdigris is or how it’s obtained, other than it’s a pretty shade of green or turquoise. In it’s natural state, verdigris is the patina that happens when bronze, brass or copper is weathered over time. Since […]
