Christmas Home Tour–A Little of This ‘n That

December 13, 2011 By Colleen Jorgenson Leave a Comment

Welcome! I put together a few Christmas photo collages to join the phone at Melissa’s Christmas Home Tours. As I looked at each grouping I realized that this year I decorated with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. There’s a theme for each area, but they are all different.

Wanna take a little tour? C’mon in!

First up is the front porch.

Front Porch Decor

I kept this very rustic and simple, using burlap and pinecones from our cabin near Lake Tahoe, with just a few pops of red for fun.

Entry Decorations

The entry has the same burlap along with some snowmen, a frosted red berry wreath and some cardinals perched here and there.

Dining-Room-Decorations

The dining room is a complete departure from our traditional reds and golds, using white, silver and turquoise with snowflakes and stars as the theme.

Christmas-Buffet-Decor

The buffet was finally cleared off for the silver beaded thrift shop runner to set the tone for more snowflakes & stars along with my attempt at faux mercury glass (more on that later) and the simple white madonna that’s over 50 years old.

Window Garland

The living room was my traditional red and gold, with some copper accents thrown in to pick up on the accents in the room. The window garland is over 90” wide, full of poinsettias and ornaments atop burlap, red velveteen and shiny gold ribbon.

Designer Christmas Wreath

But the scene-stealer is the 44” diameter wreath over the fireplace with the same décor as the window garland, along with coppery glittered feathers and glittered gold webbing that looks like spun sugar.

There’s still a lot more to do but someone was not thrilled with this white angel that rotates and lights up.

I’ll leave that for later. Maybe after she gets used to it for a while. And when I have some more energy.

In the meantime, I’ll share some tutorials for the wreaths, garlands, and a few other goodies.

I hope you stop by The Inspired Room, and these other great parties. It is so much fun seeing how everyone decorates. I have loads and loads of ideas.

For next year.
