I missed making an April calendar (sorry) so I painted this free watercolor printable card that you can use for Mother’s Day or any other occasion.
Mother’s Day has been tough for me for many, many years. I suspect this year won’t be any easier without my own mother. It just adds a new layer to the grief. Fortunately it’ll be a busy day since I’m living with my grandson.
Busy is good when it comes to grief.
Back to the card. Growing up, our yard was amazing this time of year. My dad was always outside gardening but everything looked natural. When the flowering quince bloomed it added another dimension of color. (unfortunately I couldn’t get it this time, but I’ll keep practicing until I do.)
I always said I wanted to get married in our yard with everything in full bloom. Ha! I got married in the Episcopal Cathedral with 300 guests and 7 bridesmaids.
I would’ve been better off in the garden.
Anyhoo, I’ve given you options for the printable. It’s cropped to 5 x 7 but I think you could enlarge it without losing resolution.
To print a 5 x 7 card, use 8-1/2 x 11 card stock and place the printable on the right as shown above.
Here’s one already laid out for you if you don’t want to mess around with PicMonkey or Photoshop.
But there are options!
Transparent background to paint on colored paper
All you need to do is right-click on the photo you want and ‘save image as’ and you’re ready to make a 5 x 7 card!
What’s blooming in your yard right now? Assuming you’re not covered in snow.
