Most little boys love dinosaurs. Generality? Yes. Just like most little girls love princesses.
I’m sure there are girls who love dinosaurs too and boys who love pink princessey things but I’m not trying to raise a discussion on psychology or the effects of marketing.
I just happen to have a 7 year old grandson who loves all things dinosaurs.
Not as much as Minecraft or Skylanders or superheroes maybe but he’s never far from a T Rex.
Anyway, now that Santino stays overnight at my house every other week, he brings a backpack brimming with toys each visit and one visit he had a huge bag of plastic dinosaurs. At the time we were both getting used to these ‘sleepovers at Gramma’s’ and I kept a close eye on him, but I rarely sit idle so I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil. As soon as Tino saw this he asked me to draw one of his dinosaurs so he could color it in for his bedroom.
No problem.
Each visit I’d draw one or two for him, place them in a folder so they wouldn’t get the 7 year old crumple, and they’d go home with him. One time I asked him if he’d been coloring them in to which he replied, “no, I like them in black and white.”
I asked him if he remembered a few years ago when he’d color in my drawings to decorate the walls. Surprisingly, he didn’t nor did he believe me so I had to show him an old blog post where he colored them and we put them on the walls.
You just never know what a blog is good for.
At any rate, I took photos of the sketches to make dinosaur printables for other moms and grammas who have littles ones who love big extinct reptiles and might like to color them too. Or you could blow them up for wall murals, even though I’ve only painted one dinosaur mural and it included kitties. You could also use them for other crafts or appliques or anything else you can dream up.
Oh, and I don’t have the names of the dinosaurs. Sorry. I should’ve asked Santino because I guarantee he knows them all . . . and chances are your little guy knows too.

I hope you have fun with these and make your kiddo happy too!
